Polycarbonate extruded tube delivers a unique combination of optical clarity, mechanical strength, and thermal stability that no other transparent thermoplastic can match. With a tensile strength of approximately 9,500 PSI and impact resistance 250 times greater than glass, PC tubing is genuinely shatterproof — making it the material of choice for machine guards, protective covers, and safety-critical enclosures across aerospace, industrial, and commercial construction sectors.
Unlike acrylic (PMMA), polycarbonate maintains its impact resistance at low temperatures and can withstand service temperatures from -40°F to 280°F (-40°C to 138°C). It does not degrade under UV exposure, making it suitable for outdoor architectural fixtures, marine lighting, and solar housing applications. Polycarbonate can also be autoclaved — a critical advantage for medical and laboratory equipment where repeated sterilization is required.
Our extruded PC tubes are manufactured from UV-stabilized, FDA-compliant resin and are available in clear, opal, and custom tinted formulations. Standard flame-retardant grades achieve UL 94 V-2 rating, with V-0 available on request for the most stringent fire safety requirements.
